Kiln guard
Our experienced kiln tech will always be present during firings to assist with any questions, loading, unloading, maintaining kiln furniture, and ensuring the firings go as smoothy as possible.
Shared Kiln
Should you not have enough pieces to fill a kiln by yourself and you don’t mind sharing, we can reduce the cost! For shared kilns we charge a flat rate per full shelf surface area. Everyone’s work will be separated by shelf levels to reduce the risk of possible explosions taking out someone else’s work.
Policies
Firings must be paid for upon drop off. We will not fire work that has not been paid for.
Please be sure bottoms are cleaned and glazes will not run (you’re welcome to make and bring your own cookies). Fees for damages up to the cost of replacing the shelf will be the responsibility of client.
We do not run single firings (going from glazed greenware up to glaze firing temperatures) as the risk for kiln damage is much greater.
FAQ
-
Nope! Our kiln tech will load, fire, and unload your pieces. All you need to do is drop off and pick up!
-
It really depends on what you’re bringing in, but we can fit about 15 average sized mugs.
-
In our Shared Kiln firings we bisque to cone 04 and glaze to cone 6. If you need a specific cone other than these you’ll need to rent a whole kiln.
-
Unfortunately we do not do single firings as the risk of damaging the kiln via explosions is far greater.
-
Of course! We just ask that you know what specific materials you’re using and what temp they fire to so there is no damage to our kilns or your hard work!
